Measure usable wall length after leaving your own margins at each end and excluding obstacles. Divide usable length plus one gap by the rack or saddle width plus one gap, and round down. Use whichever is wider: the rack or the saddle.

Formula: capacity = floor((usable wall length + gap) ÷ (max(rack width, saddle width) + gap)). If the rack hardware is taller than the usable wall height, capacity is zero.

Worked example

With 300 cm of usable wall, a 60 cm saddle envelope and 10 cm gaps, the row can hold 4 saddle positions before hooks. The requested 3 saddles occupy 200 cm, leaving room for 3 hooks of 15 cm each with the same gap. These are editable illustration values, not recommended clearances. This example is generated by the tool's calculation engine.

This is a layout estimate, not a fixing or saddle-support specification. Check actual saddle width, doors, circulation space, wall suitability and the manufacturer's fitting instructions. Inputs and clearances are your choices; no spacing is presented as a safety standard.
